Job description
Global Wind Service is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to strengthen our Offshore Installation and Offshore Service business in Europe.
This is a key commercial role with responsibility for major opportunities across our offshore business. You will be involved throughout the commercial process, from developing opportunities and responding to complex tenders through commercial negotiations, contract award and handover.
The position offers significant customer exposure and the opportunity to play an important role in the continued development of our offshore business and commercial offering.
About Global Wind Service
Founded in Denmark in 2008, Global Wind Service (GWS) is a leading provider of wind turbine installation and maintenance services. With more than 1,800 employees worldwide, we support wind projects across Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific.
As part of the Fred. Olsen Group, we are committed to supporting the global transition to renewable energy through safe and high-quality project delivery, flexibility and strong customer partnerships.
Our business is international and fast-moving. Close cooperation between Sales and Operations is central to developing solutions that meet our customers' needs while reflecting how projects will actually be delivered.
Your Role
As Sales Manager, you will take commercial responsibility for customers and opportunities across Offshore Installation and Offshore Service.
You will work closely with Operations and other internal functions to develop competitive commercial solutions for a variety of project opportunities. A key area of focus will be the continued development of our lump-sum offering, including how operational assumptions, productivity, resources, programme and project risk are translated into a robust commercial model.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading complex RFQs and tenders for Offshore Installation and Offshore Service projects
Developing commercial proposals, pricing and project-specific commercial models
Further developing our lump-sum offering, together with the operational and commercial assumptions behind it
Reviewing and challenging project scope, programme, productivity, resource requirements and key interfaces
Identifying, assessing and managing commercial and contractual risks
Leading commercial and contractual negotiations with customers
Managing and developing relationships with key international customers
Coordinating input from Sales, Operations and other relevant functions throughout the tender and contracting process
Maintaining clear commercial alignment through contract award and handover to Operations
Contributing to the continued development of our offshore sales and commercial approach
The position gives you a high degree of responsibility and autonomy in managing your customers and opportunities, while working closely with experienced operational and commercial colleagues.
The role reports to the Head of Offshore Sales and is preferably based from our office in Fredericia, Denmark or Duiven, the Netherlands. Approximately 30–40 travel days per year should be expected for customer meetings, negotiations and project visits.
Job requirements
We are looking for an experienced commercial professional who understands the wind industry and is comfortable taking responsibility for complex project opportunities and customer discussions.
Professional experience within the wind industry is essential for this position. You do not necessarily need to come from Offshore Installation or Offshore Service, but you should understand the commercial and operational environment of wind projects and be able to engage confidently with both customers and internal stakeholders.
You will bring:
Solid professional experience within the wind industry
A strong commercial background, including experience with RFQs, tenders and customer negotiations
A good understanding of wind project execution and the commercial factors that influence a successful project
The ability to understand and challenge the assumptions behind commercial proposals
Strong commercial judgement and the ability to identify and manage risk
Experience working with international customers and multiple stakeholders
A structured and commercially focused approach with good attention to detail
Strong communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills
Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken; additional European languages are an advantage
Experience within Offshore Installation and/or Offshore Service as well as experience on developing lump-sum offerings would be a great advantage.
What We Offer
At Global Wind Service, you will join an international organisation with a strong position in the wind industry and the opportunity to contribute directly to the continued growth of our Offshore Installation and Offshore Service business.
You will work with major international customers and complex offshore projects, with the opportunity to influence how commercial solutions are developed and how we continue to strengthen our offering as the business grows.
We offer:
A high degree of commercial responsibility and autonomy
Direct engagement with leading international wind industry customers
The opportunity to work on major Offshore Installation and Offshore Service opportunities
Close cooperation with experienced colleagues across Sales, Operations and other functions
An international working environment across multiple markets
Opportunities for continued professional and personal development
We commit to an inclusive recruitment process and equality of opportunity for all our job applicants.
