Job description

  • Process new hire onboarding start to finish, including union and non-union

  • Update HRIS/payroll system for employee data maintenance 

  • Maintain physical and digital personnel records 

  • Manage benefits administration and respond to employee questions  

  • Distribute benefit information to new hires 

  • Draft project assignment letters

  • Understand and enforce all company policies and procedures 

  • Understand and follow federal, state, and local laws around hiring 

  • Fosters productive relationships with clients, customers, and technicians 

  • Partners with various internal departments including accounting, operations, and legal 

  • Special projects as assigned

  • All other duties as assigned 

Job requirements

  • Pre-employment background check and drug test

  • Prior experience in HR, particularly in onboarding and compliance roles is preferred

  • Strong PC skills, with proficiency in MS Office

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

  • Able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment and display a sense of urgency

  • Function with little supervision. Be an effective team player

  • High energy, self-motivated, service-oriented and ethical with a high degree of integrity

Working Conditions and Environment 

  • Must be able to work independently. 

  • Must be able to move around the office up to 20% of the time to make copies, etc. 

  • This position operates computers and other office productivity machines (e.g. copier, printer, etc.) on a regular basis. This position must be able to inspect and observe information on a computer screen at least 80% of the time. 

  • This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 

  • This position requires constant communication and exchange of information with the Company’s employees, clients, vendors and/or contractors. 

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. 

  • Must be valid to work in the United States.
